pie containers vs. cake containers

Pie and cake containers are a main stay at any bakery. Do you sell or are you planning on selling pies, tarts, quiches, cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, or cannolis? Then you’ve come to the right place. We offer a large selection of bakery containers for serving and displaying an even larger variety of baked goods. Here we discuss the differences between pie containers and cake containers.

Pie Containers

A pie container typically has sloped sides and the bottom is smaller in diameter than the top. Pie containers are designed for pies – period. Pies are not meant to be removed from their containers like cakes. Instead, they are simply sliced through, and served from the container itself. This is why most pie containers have an aluminum bottom. Choose pie containers for pies, tarts, and quiches.

Our pie containers are available in either one (1) or two (2) piece designs. They are made from plastic. The one (1) piece design utilizes a hinge to keep the lid securely attached to the bottom. The two (2) piece design is only available for whole pies. The lids for both designs are clear. They also feature a high dome that allows for a variety of toppings such as whipped cream. Pie boxes are also available.

Cake Containers

A cake container can be a variety of shapes including: rectangle, square, round, and triangle. They can also be ¼ sheet, ½ sheet, full sheet. Round cakes can be single or double. Then you have your cupcake containers. Oh, and let’s not forget, your wedding cake size containers. Typical cake pans have straight sides and are the same diameter throughout. You can either serve cake from the container or from the paper insert.

Cake containers, whether plastic or cardboard, are a great option for any bakery. Cake boxes are available in a variety of sizes and colors. They can accommodate cakes, doughnuts, and other baked goods. Plastic cake containers are available in round, square, and semi-circle shapes. These containers feature a textured, bottom tray, which keeps your baked goods from moving around.
